Know More About Baby's Growth During Pregnancy

The pregnancy period plays a very important role in a woman's life. Every woman has her set of apprehensions and questions about those nine months. It is the time when she is carrying another life inside her. An expectant mother is always curious about her baby's growth during pregnancy. Here is a guide to a baby's growth during pregnancy.

We'll study it in three sets of three month each.

* First to Third month

These months are very significant in an expectant mother's life because her baby grows very fast during this period. Now let's see how the process starts and moves:

First of all a sperm fertilizes the egg which starts to divide within half an hour. These eggs then travel to the uterus where they'll develop and grow during the course of the next nine months. By the third week the eggs have formed an embryo with a little heart that has started to beat. A head is developed along with a growing brain by the end of the fourth week. There is also a development in the form of buds which will later turn into hands and legs. The second month starts with a new development, there are signs of eyes, nose and ears visible now. A little simulation can make the head , body and limbs move. The outlines of all internal and external structures begin to develop during the rest of the second month.

The heart begins to beat strongly as soon as the third month begins. The eyes are now separated giving a proper shape to the face. The baby can smell in a better way now. The baby can move but the mother cannot experience it yet.

* Fourth to Sixth months

The head has now started to develop actively in comparison to the rest of the body in the beginning of fourth month. The mouth, nose and ears have begun to develop giving the face a well defined look. The baby's eyes are now sensitive to light and he/she can react to sounds.

The mother can experience the bay's movement in the beginning of the fifth month. The baby can hear things and react to it by the end of the fifth month.

* Seventh to Nine months

The body temperature and respiration are controlled by the nervous system by the seventh month. The lungs and muscles have grown stronger. The baby starts reacting differently to different sounds. The nervous system is fully developed by the eight month and then the baby keeps growing until the time of birth.

Truly, experiencing your baby's growth during pregnancy is the best experience in the whole world.
